22/09/14 S333 is selected to submit plans for Christchurch Reconstruction
S333 have just returned from Christchurch New Zealand. In association with Studio Pacific Architecture, S333 are part of a consortium tendering for the Eastern Frame Development. This development aims to bring back living back to the city center. A powerful earthquake in February 2011 caused widespread damage across Christchurch, especially in the central city and eastern suburbs.
15/09/14 Dominic appointed to Hackney Estate Regeneration Design Advice Group
Dominic has been appointed to be part of the newly formed Hackney Estate Regeneration Design Advice Group. Hackney Council is undertaking an ambitious programme of redevelopment and regeneration across a number of housing estates and sites within the borough. The advisory group is one of the measures to help the Council in designing and building exemplary new housing, streets and public spaces for the borough. The group will scrutinise and review projects at key stages in the design and delivery process and discuss and advise the Estate Regeneration team on particular issues within the programme that have an impact on design quality
09/07/14 S333's Singapore Science Park breaks ground
S333's first building project in Singapore has just broken ground. The 52,000m2 building combines regional office headquarters, retail, restaurants, creche and a pharmacy and is set within courtyard gardens and plazas.
05/05/14 Dominic attends Recife workshop in Brazil
Dominic visited Recife as part of a continuing involvement with the Brazilian government on their social housing programme Minha Casa, Minha Vida (My House, My Life). He participated in a design workshop, reflecting how future infrastructure can improve connections between the affluent south and favelas in the north, and how mixed-use program can combine with new MC/MV housing.
18/02/14 - Dominic lectures at University of Nottingham
Dominic will present the recent work of the office. The Architecture Matters lecture series is organised by the University of Nottingham's Department of Architecture and the Built Environment (DABE). The overarching theme of the 2013-14 lecture series is "Making: Between Architecture and Urbanism".
13/01/14 - Stage 1 of Bergen masterplan completed
S333 and 3RW's vision to densify the center of Bergen is being implemented. On the eastern shore of Store Lungegardsvan, 3RW has recently completed a waterfront housing project for 750 students. According to 3RW, the “student housing project at Gronneviksoren is an attempt to answer one of our biggest challenges in today's growing cities: how can we create high quality architecture for people who need affordable, low cost housing close to the city center?“
20/12/13 - Think Tank Bergen presentations
Bergen Architecture School students presented their final projects for the Think Tank Bergen mastercourse. The BAS mastercourse is led by Jonathan Woodroffe and Jérôme Picard with participatory teaching from Eva Kun (DAV) and Harald N Røstvik (TTA).
12/12/13 - Jonathan lectures in Bergen
This competition winning proposal by S333 and 3RW reconnects Bergen's city center to the water with parks and open spaces around the shore of Store Lungegardsvann. Following the competition S333's task has been twofold: to analyse in greater detail the problems in the area and to implement a strategic urban framework that would guide present and future development. Jonathan presented this work at Bergen BOBY, a local organisation concerned with housing and urban policy.
11/12/13 - S333 wins planning approval for first project in Belgium
'Paspoel Anders' is an affordable housing scheme located on the outskirts of Tongeren. On the site there currently exists 192 housing units, arranged in high-rise tower blocks surrounded by parkland and open space that lack identity and character. The project involves demolishing the tower blocks and arranging the 192 units into high-rise and medium-rise buildings that frame intimate gardens and courtyards. Construction of the new buildings is expected to start in September 2014.Click here for more details
10/10/13 - S333 reveals latest image of Derriford Transferium
In June 2007, S333 won an invited competition to lead the regeneration of Derriford’s North West Quadrant. Selected by Wharfside Regeneration and working alongside Plymouth Hospital Trust, S333 worked up a detailed masterplan for the 16 acre site, that sits opposite Derriford Hospital. The first phase of the scheme, the Derriford Transferium, is slated to be completed in May 2014.Click here for more details
02/09/13 - Dominic attends INTA workshop
From the 2nd to the 4th September the International Urban Development Association (INTA) organised an international Design Workshop on "Vertical Mobility: towards a global mobile experience " in Lisbon, Portugal.
06/07/13 - Stepney Green School completed
S333's Stepney Green School is predominately new build, with extensive landscape works, re-modelling and refurbishment to some buildings that were retained. Key drivers for the project have been to create a new image for the school, to raise the school's profile within the borough, to support the aspirations of pupils and staff, and to improve the school's civic presence and connections to the community.Click here for more details
12/06/13 - S333 wins masterplan for Singapore science park
S333 have won a commission to masterplan the revitalisation of a 55 ha Science Park in Singapore. The commission includes the design of a new 52,000m2 office headquarters building. Construction is due to start on site in January 2014.

16/04/13 - S333 selected to develop family housing design guide
S333 has won a competition to develop a new design guide for family housing in Hackney, east London. The practice is working with Lawrence Barth of the AA graduate school on the project, which seeks to encourage innovative design solutions for larger dwellings in the borough. The guide, to be used by the planning and regulatory services, is due to be published at the end of 2013.
15/03/13 - Nairobi masterplan completed
This 76 ha mixed-use residential development in Limuru occupies two hill-tops and is surrounded by tea plantations. The masterplan uses the topography of the hills and valleys to set up a collection of neighborhoods that have different qualities and identities. The natural rolling landscape creates the opportunity to deliver a variety of innovative house typologies that take advantage of views and dramatic landscapes.Click here for more details
02/03/13 S333 selected for Bordeaux housing competition
S333 has been pre-selected to compete in phase one of an ambitious plan to develop 50,000 new affordable homes in the city, concentrated along existing and future lines of public infrastructure. The goal is to invent new types of affordable housing to meet the diversity of requirements from today's households.
