Across Europe, greater emphasis is now being placed on schools to help regenerate city neighbourhoods. How does this change influence their design, layout and functional organisation?

In the Netherlands, S333 has been working closely with the school organisation, ROCvA, to research and design new types of multifunctional school buildings that are more integrated into their urban context.

This working methodology has produced a range of buildings that mix school activities and community-based functions in different ways in response to local requirements and conditions.

In the United Kingdom, S333 has been collaborating closely with two architectural offices to assist clients engaged in the provision of schools across London.
